Paris France 🇫🇷 Annette’s Birthday
When we were planning our 2025 travel plans, Paris was the perfect spot for Annette’s birthday. We were also thrilled to catch up with our niece Patricia, who lives here while she finishes her degree. The last time we visited was for Annette’s birthday in 2022, and it was so special to celebrate her birthday in Paris again.
Our day started with an incredible lunch at Le Relais de l’Entreçte, a fantastic restaurant that only has one choice: how do you want your steak prepared? Annette had researched this place, and the fact that Patricia loves it made it a must-visit. The meal was amazing, and it was so great to see Patricia again. The last time we saw her was in Florence, and it was wonderful to be reunited.
We were so lucky to have Patricia with us to show us around the city she’s called home for four years. It was so much fun having her as our tour guide, and walking through the Luxembourg Gardens was a real treat. Spring was just starting to bloom here, and the tulips, daffodils, tulip trees, forsythia, grape hyacinth, and crocus gave the garden a beautiful splash of color. A beautiful palette of color returning after the drabness of winter was welcome, and many Parisians were out enjoying the beauty of the garden as well. Paris is full of life and people enjoying all the city has to offer.
Annette wanted to stop at À la Mére de Famille, a chocolate shop we stopped at in 2022, and of course, we had to stop again for this trip. Pont Neuf, the Center Pompidou, and the surrounding area were so wonderful to explore again. What a treat to explore an area we were already familiar with from our trip 3 years ago.
We sat and talked with Patricia in a local park that she used to call home when she first moved to Paris. We made plans to have brunch with her the next morning since she had finals and studying was in her plans the rest of the day.
Our walk back to our Airbnb was like a trip down memory lane. We passed by all the cool places we visited before, and it felt very familiar. It was even more magical now that we knew the city better.
The best part of our trip was when we found a live jazz band playing by the Seine. They were incredible, and we had a blast listening to them and watching the people enjoy the street performers. It was the perfect way to end Annette’s birthday, and it felt like it was my birthday too!
More Paris posts to come.
Until Next Time…
