Amboise 🇫🇷 1st Impressions
When planning our travels this year, we both had our hearts set on visiting the Loire Valley. We wanted to soak in all the beauty and charm that this area of France has to offer. With over 300 chateaux in the valley and over 7,000 winegrowers that produce incredible wines. We knew three weeks would not be enough, but alas, we would make do with the time we have.
We decided to make Amboise our home base for this trip. And I’m so glad we have. This little village has so much to offer, and there’s plenty of green space for walking and exploring along the Loire River. We are now at the beginning of our third and final week here, since it has been a little cloudy and rainy, taking time to cull photos is in order, as well as a few quick blog entries.
Amboise is most notable for the burial place for Leonardo da Vinci, who lived and worked here the final few years of his life. His burial place is located at the Chapel of Saint-Hubert at the Château d’Amboise. Spring is here, and watching the area transform from early spring with tulips, daffodils, and so many other early-blooming flowers to where it is now with so many trees popping with the beautiful pale green leaves is so wonderful to take in, and we are truly enjoying the transformation.
Until Next Time…
