Château Royal d’Amboise 🇫🇷

 

Our first Château in France!

We were looking forward to visiting this beautiful chateau, and it did not disappoint. A very brief history: the chateau was founded in the 10th century and expanded and improved over time. On 4 September 1434, it was seized by Charles VII of France and became a favorite of French kings from Louis XI to Francis I. Charles VIII rebuilt it in 1492, the same year Columbus sailed the ocean blue. (Mind Blown!)

What a beautiful day this was, clear blue skies, and early spring flowers blooming to welcome spring to the valley. We are so thankful we had such beautiful skies and sun to enjoy this wonderful day. Our time here in the Loire Valley has truly been amazing. More to come soon.
