Nature Hikes Žabljak
Žabljak Montenegro has been such a wonderful stop for us. The Balkans are absolutely beautiful and a surprise to both of us. The natural beauty, outdoor activities, and laid back nature of this town is exactly what we needed. The fact that the weather is so much more pleasant than what we were experiencing is a huge bonus.
We have enjoyed our walks every day and taking in the natural beauty of this area. Yesterday we walked the huge open spaces and photogenic meadows on a trail just southeast of us. Today we walked to the Black Lake, and forested trails of Durmitor National Park. It is so refreshing to have two differing landscapes in such close proximity to this sleepy little mountain town.
We walked 31.06 kilometers (19.3miles) combined yesterday and today. It’s a good thing we have, the next couple days look to be rainy and turning even cooler up here. We will be hunkered down inside enjoying some time reading and planning where we want to visit next year.
We are seriously considering southern Spain and France starting in the middle of February. Both are countries we have visited but we really look forward to exploring both even more.
Until next time…
