Break In The Weather
Glad to get outside for a walk after a weekend of unsettled weather here in the mountains of Montenegro. We did have a couple breaks in the weather on Friday & Saturday which was welcome for a couple of short walks to help break up the monotony of staying inside. Sunday however was nothing but cold and the kind of rain that, while not heavy, is just enough to keep you inside to stay warm. The high temperature yesterday was 44, and raining here in the city with snow on the higher mountains.
This morning the sun finally came out for a while and we enjoyed a wonderful walk around the lake and through Žabljak. We noticed horses walking around very close to our AirBnB yesterday as well as cows a day earlier. Well we found the horses during our walk through town near the cemetery on top the hill we normally walk to. I’m sure they come into the town to help get out of the wind. There is plenty of weeds for them to munch on between the cemetery plots.
The walk to the lake was beautiful with clouds breaking up just enough to notice the snow on the mountain tops. So glad we got out to enjoy a walk while it was nice enough to do so. A 9.5 mile walk felt great after not being out at all yesterday.
