2025 Travel Plans
“Paris is always a good idea.”
Annette & I have really enjoyed being in the States for the Holidays. We spent time with family and friends in Florida & North Carolina during our extended stay here back in the USA. I have to say, we have experienced some sticker shock at how expensive things are here in the Good ‘ol US of A. Our first trip to the grocery store and especially our first stop for a latte made me miss the prices in Tirana Albania.
While we have enjoyed spending time with loved ones we both are very much ready to start our Travels for 2025 and we have plans for a transatlantic cruise from Miami to Barcelona leaving February 10th and then we will be going directly to Avignon, France when we arrive on the 22nd of February. We plan on staying in southern France, Provence and Bougogne for a month. This will bring us close to Annette’s Birthday and during our planning we remembered that “Paris is always a good idea” (thanks Audrey Hepburn) so we will be making another stop in Paris for Annette’s birthday in March.
We will be exploring more of France after Paris but do not have anything solid planned yet,we both are leaning heavily toward visiting the Lorie Valley before we head to the UK for a visit to the Cotswolds. We will be asking our new friends from the UK for more advice.
We both had a “I can’t believe we are having this discussion” moment. We both are still amazed that we are 1) retired and 2) able to travel and see the world, and 3) have friends from all over the world now. Life is amazing and the first year has been a little surreal for both of us.
